Summary
This European Standard specifies requirements for equipment fitted to the crane for holding loads by, for example: a) gripping; b) magnetism or vacuum; c) mechanical location or connection; d) containment. This standard may also apply to such equipment permanently fixed to cranes. This standard does not cover slings, chains or hooks. The hazards covered by this European Standard are identified in clause 4. This European Standard is applicable to cranes which are manufactured after the date of approval by CEN of this standard.

DIN EN 13155 (2007-11) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.
