DIN EN 1337-8:2008-01

This part of EN 1337 applies to guide bearings and restraint bearings. These are devices which do not transmit vertical loads but restrain movements in a horizontal plane. Guide bearings provide this restraint in one direction only and allow movement in a perpendicular direction. Restraint bearings restrain movements in one or in all direction in the horizontal plane. These bearings may be attached to a structure separately from bearings resisting vertical loads or they may be mounted on a common base plate.
