Summary
The standard contains a consistent and reproductible means of evaluating the load carrying charachteristics of tip-over protective structures (TOPS) for compact excavators under static loading and prescribes performance requirements for a representative specimen under such loading. It applies to TOPS of compact excavators with swing type boom having an operating mass of 1000 kg to 6000 kg.

DIN EN 13531 (2002-03) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.
