Summary
This document is applicable to automatic turntable ladders comprising chassis, bodywork ad a powered aerial ladder assembly with or without rescue cage and classified into class 18, 24 or 30. Automatic turntable ladders are principally used for rescuing people, for the execution of technical auxiliary works and for fire-fighting. Among a few technical changes the informative Annex ZB is supplemented, in order to link the connection with the amended machinery directive 2006/42/EC.

DIN EN 14043 (2006-01) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.*A transition period, as set out in DIN EN 14043 (2014-04), exists until 2014-07-31.
