This European Standard applies to the cross wind assessment of railways. The methods presented apply to passenger vehicles with a maximum speed up to 360 km/h and to freight vehicles with a maximum speed up to 160 km/h. This European Standard applies to coaches, multiple units, freight wagons, locomotives and power cars with track gauges from 1435 mm to 1668 mm
