This document lays down the requirements for visual and machine graded structural timber with rectangular cross-sections shaped by sawing, planing or other methods, and having deviations from the target sizes corresponding to EN 336. This document identifies the characteristics for which, as a minimum, limits shall be given in visual grading rules.

Under certain conditions, DIN EN 14081-1 (2006-03) remains valid alongside this standard until 2011-08-31.
