DIN EN 14681:2010-10

This standard specifies requirements to be met by the manufacturer to ensure the health and safety of persons during construction, transport, commissioning, operation, maintenance and de-commissioning, as well as in the event of foreseeable faults as malfunctions. It covers Electric Arc Furnaces with AC and DC technology (alternating/direct current), scrap preheating technology and associated equipment/devices. Induction furnaces, resistance-arc furnaces, electron beam furnaces, plasma furnaces and other electrical furnaces used in secondary steelmaking are not covered.
