Summary
This standard applies to lifting equipment which are mobile or movable and designated for operation from under the load to be carried, wether operated singulary or in multiples to partially or totally raise and lower loads or vehicles at one or more lifting points, where working under the raised load is not permitted unless additional means of securing the load in position are in place.

DIN EN 1494 (2001-04) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.
