Summary

This European standard specifies the safety requirements for the bridge and gantry cranes, but is not applicable to runways and other supporting structures. The specific hazards due to potentially explosive atmospheres, underground work, ionizing radiation, and operation in electromagnetic fields beyond the range of EN 50082-2 are not covered by this standard. Also the additional loads due to mounting on a floating or tilting basement are not covered by this standard. This standard includes requirements for the lifting of persons.
