DIN EN 1552:2003-09

This standard specifies safety requirements for shearer loaders and ploughs working underground including their control systems and guiding and haulage elements. The machines work with tools for cutting minerals. They are guided on armoured scraper conveyors or attachments and either have built-in haulage systems or are separately hauled. They may be equipped with loading devices, operated by an attending person or driver or remotely or program controlled. It does not cover any hazards resulting from the electrical equipment. It does not contain any requirements relating to dust suppression or firedamp hazards.
