This European standard specifies the requirements for the end coupler for train sets compliant with the technical specification for Interoperability High Speed Rolling stock.It defines the minimum interface requirements in order to allow automatic coupling (mechanical and pneumatical) of two interoperable train sets of different types.The herein specified interfaces of the end coupler enable the rescue of a train set in a event of a breakdown by another interoperable trainset of different type, without the need to use an intermediate coupler adapter, accessories or component.
