This standard applies to separators for assembly in kitchen ventilation hoods/ceilings according to EN Kitchen ventilation-2 or EN Kitchen ventilation-3 as well as in air passages EN Kitchen ventilation-4 in kitchens and other food processing companies the nature and equipment of which are destined to commercial use. It does not apply to separators in home kitchens. This standard contains requirements and inspections of separators which separate inflammable aerosols and smoke particles from the extract air. The separators are integrated in the kitchen air extract system. This standard is valid for inspections of building designs.
