This European Standard is intended for the evaluation and assessment of new and existing buildings and refurbishment projects. The assessment of the social performance of a building, in this first generation of the standard, concentrates on measures related to a building's occupants and other users.The standard provides the method to assess the social performance of a building and gives the means for the communication of the outcome of the assessment. The standard gives:- the description of the object of assessment;- the system boundary that applies at the building level;- the indicators and measurement method to be used - the requirements for presentation of the results;- and the requirements for the data necessary for the assessment;The approach to the assessment covers the use-stage of the building lifecycle. It uses information about the building as a whole including all relevant information related to design, construction products, processes and services.The interpretation and valuation of the results of the assessment are not within the scope of this standard. Note: pre-use and after-use stages of the building lifecycle are not covered in this first generation of standards.
