The document contains safety and performance requirements for positive pressure foam proportioning systems (PPFPS) and compressed air foam systems (CAFS). In these systems either additives (e. g. in positive pressure foam systems) or additives and compressed gases - normally compressed air - (e. g. in compressed air foam arrangements) are added to the water after the fire-fighting centrifugal pump, in each case under pressure for a continuous operation. These systems are fixed installed in fire fighting vehicles or mobile or portable.
