Water quality - Performance requirements and conformity test procedures for water monitoring equipment - Part 1: Automated sampling devices (samplers) for water and waste water; German version prEN 16479-1:2012
Summary
This standard is Part 1 of a three part series of standards defining the technical requirements for water monitoring equipment. This standard defines the performance requirements and conformity test procedures for automated waste water sampling equipment. This equipment can be used to take samples of waste waters from channels or vessels over extended periods. Discrete or composite samples can be collected using time or flow proportional sampling. The equipment can be installed on a permanent or temporary basis.Sampling equipment of this kind is used extensively in the water and industrial process industries. The standard supports the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive, the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive, and the Water Framework Directive.Performance requirements and conformity test procedures cover: sample volume, sample line velocity, sample integrity, sampler timing error, and ambient temperature effects.
