This European Standard defines the safety requirements for prevention and fight against fire. This standard defines the safety principles for design, operation and maintenance. For cableway installations with no operating personnel in the control console or station, safety principles defined in clause 4 apply. The requirements defined in the following clauses must be adapted as no operating personnel is present at the cableway installation. This standard contains requirements for prevention of accidents and workers safety irrespective of the application of national regulations. National regulations of a building or federal/state nature or which serve to protect particular groups of people remain unaffected. This standard is not applicable to cableway installations for the transportation of goods nor to lifts.
