This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of organic acids in animal feeding stuffs by Ion Chromatography with conductivity detection (IC-CD).The method is intended to be used for the determination of added citric acid, malic acid, formic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, fumaric acid and propionic acid in feed additives, premixtures, compound feed and water. This method determines the total concentration of organic acids and their salts.The working range of organic acids in the extract is between 10 mg/l and 100 mg/l.The method was successfully tested in an inter-laboratory study in concentrations between xx % up to xx %.
