Summary

This part of this document specifies the minimum requirements for safety and performance of firefighting and rescue service vehicles as designated in EN 1846-1. Categories and mass classes of these vehicles are given in EN 1846-1. Firefighting and rescue service vehicles normally use a commercial chassis-cab or vehicle. A special chassis may be used for specialised vehicles to meet particular requirements. Besides other technical amendments, the consolidated version add requirements to take into account the temperature of the exhaust system designed in accordance with Euro 6.

Notes

DIN EN 1846-2 (2010-01) remains valid alongside this standard until 2013-08-31.
