Summary
This European Standard specifies technical safety requirements and measures for all types and sizes of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms intended to move persons to working postions where they are carrying out work from the work platform with the intention that persons are getting on and off the work platform at one defined access position. The standard is applicable to the structural design calculations and stability criteria, construction, safety, examinations and tests.

Eingeschränkter sachlicher Geltungsbereich in Abschnitt 1 (Anwendungsbereich).*Gegenüber DIN EN 280:2001-12 und DIN EN 280/A1:2004-10 wurden folgende Änderungen vorgenommen: a) Änderung A1 eingearbeitet und Norm im Hinblick auf die neue Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EG geändert und angepasst, b) Aufnahme eines informativen Anhangs ZB über den Zusammenhang dieser Europäischen Norm und den grundlegenden Anforderungen der Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EG.
