Summary
The focus of this part of the EN 50090 lies on the description of the requirements for the medium specific Physical and Data Link Layer of Radio Frequency for Home and Building Electronic Systems (HBES ). It is used as a product family standard. It is not intended to be used as a stand-alone standard. Data Link Layer interface and general definitions, which are medium independent, are given in EN 50090-4-1.

A transition period, as set out in DIN EN 50090-5-3 (2016-10), exists until 2018-11-02.
