Summary
This procedure describes extrapolative techniques for the estimation of very low bit-error rations (BERs) of 10-12 to 10-20 in times of only a few minutes. It can also redure the time required to measure common BERs of 10-9 to 10-12, especailly at lower bir rates.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN EN IEC 61280-2-8 (2022-12), exists until 2024-04-06.
