Summary
This International Standard applies to all commercially available optical amplifiers (Oas) and optically amplified sub-systems. It applies to Oas using optically pumped fibres (OFAs based on either rare-earth doped fibres or on the Raman effect), semiconductors (SOAs), and waveguides (POWAs).
