Summary
This International Standard applies to all commercially available optical amplifiers (OA) and optically amplied subsystems. It applies to OA using optically pumped fibres (OFA based on either rare-earth doped fibres on the Raman effect), semiconductors (SOA), and waveguides (POWA).
Notes
DIN EN 61290-1-3 (1999-08) remains valid alongside this standard until 2008-10-01.*A transition period, as set out in DIN EN 61290-1-3 (2015-12), exists until 2018-03-31.
