Summary
This part of IEC 61290 applies to all commercially aviable optical amplifiers (OAs) and optically amplified syb-systems. It applies to OAs using optically pumped fibres (OFAs based on either rare-earth doped fibres or on the Raman effect), semiconductor OAs (SOAs), and waveguides (POWAs).
Notes
DIN EN 61290-5-1 (2001-06) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-06-01.
