At 2015 Berlin meeting, it was discussed that it was time for TC 49 to begin on the standardization of piezoelectric sensor devices, and approved simultaneously that WG 13 on sensor devices and systems should have been set up to accelerate the establishment of international standards. The new work item proposal 49/1168/NP was circulated in August 2015, and comments on the proposal were compiled and circulated as part of 49/1178/RVN in December 2015. According to the comments and suggestions in both Berlin meeting and 49/1178/RVN, this draft is dedicated to piezoelectric chemical sensor devices, providing users with technical guidelines of biosensor devices as well as basics common to chemical sensors.
