Summary
This European standard applies to all types of passenger and passenger goods lift, in particular those covered by the EN 81 series of standards, and may be applied to similar equipment where there is a risk of trapping user. This European standard defines the basic characteristics of an emergency alarm system required within a lift provided for the safety of all users. Furthermore, it provides guidance on the level of service provided by a rescue organisation.
