Summary

This document applies to hydraulic systems and components which may be used for fluid power applications. It identifies hazards associated with and principles relating to the safety of systems and components when they are put to their intended use and under reasonably foreseeable conditions of misuse. This document identifies those characteristics of hydraulic systems and components which are relevant to safety and to make appropriate regulations for them.

DIN EN 982 (1996-09) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.*A transition period, as set out in DIN EN ISO 4413 (2011-04), exists until 2011-11-01.
