Agricultural and forestry machinery - Safety requirements and testing for portable, hand-held, powered brush-cutters and grass-trimmers - Part 2: Machines for use with back-pack power unit (ISO 11806-2:2011); German version EN ISO 11806-2:2011.
Summary
This part of ISO 11806 specifies safety requirements and their verification for design and construction of portable handheld, combustion engine driven brush cutters and grass trimmers having a backpack mounted combustion engine power source and mechanical power transmission between source and cutting attachment. This standard does not apply for lawn edge trimmers or brush-cutters equipped with metallic blades consisting of more than one part, e. g. pivoting chains. It describes methods for the elimination or reduction of hazards arising from their use. In addition it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be providedby the manufacturer. This document deals, except for whole body vibration hazard from the backpack power unit with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to these machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of reasonably foreseeable misuse.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN EN ISO 11806-2 (2022-08), exists until 2022-09-30.
