Summary

This document describes the reference method for in vitro antimicrobial susceptibility testing of rapidly growing aerobic bacteria with importance in human infections. The MIC reflects the activity of the drug under the described test conditions, and should be interpreted for clinical management purposes by taking into account other factors such as drug pharmacology or bacterial resistance mechanisms.
