Summary

This International Standard specifies a calculation procedure for the conversion of measured hourly weather data to input for energy calculations, in particular the calculation of solar irradiance on an arbitrary surface. A simple method for conversion of solar irradiance to illuminance is also provided. The solar irradiance and illuminance on an arbitrary surface are needed as input for energy and daylighting calculations.
