Summary
This standard specifies requirements for tracheostomy tubes made of plastic materials and/or rubber having inside diameters of 6,5 mm or greater. Such tubes are primarily designed for patients who require anaesthesia, artifical ventilation or other respiratory support, but need not to be restricted to these uses.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN EN ISO 5366-1 (2009-07), exists until 2010-03-21.
