This standard applies to dental operating lights, however constructed, used for illuminating the oral cavity and specifies requirements and test methods. It also contains specifications on manufacturer's instructions, marking and packaging. Excluded are aucilliary light forms such as light sources from dental handpieces and dental headlamps. Excluded are also dental luminaires, which are used in a dental surgery.
