Summary
The standard applies to a time reference (80 bit time code according to IEC 461) located on a track half-way between the two audio tracks of a 6,3 mm wide professional twin track magnetic tape for use at a tape speed of 19 cm/s or 38 cm/s as well as to an address code in the form of intentional pauses within a programme for the automatic recognition of individual parts of the programme.
