Summary
The standard applies to analogue audio disk records and the corresponding professional and domestic reproducing equipment. It excludes amplifiers and loudspeakers, methods of measurement for which can be found in IEC 268-3 and IEC 268-5 respectively. It also excludes all aspects of quality grading, which can be found in IEC 581-3.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN EN IEC 60098 (2021-01), exists until 2023-02-14.
