Summary
Because of recent developments in metrology concerning measurement uncertainty, i. e. ISO Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and [1, 2], the former standards based on classical statistics had to be revised. This standard is based on Bayesian statistics, as DIN 25482-10:2000-05 is, e. g. uncertain quantities and influences can also be taken into account, which do not behave randomly in measurements repeated several times or in counting measurements. In the course of the revision, all documents of the former standards series were combined in one document since they can all be based on the same procedure for the calculation of the characteristic limits. Examples of application are to be found in Annexes now.
