Summary
This International Standard specifies a method for determining the toxicity of environmental samples on the growth of Myriophyllum aquaticum. The method described is applicable to natural fresh water sediment and artificial sediment. Myriophyllum aquaticum whorls are exposed to test samples over a period of 10 days. The growth of Myriophyllum aquaticum in a test sample is compared with its growth in the control sample. Phytotoxic effects are quantified as growth inhibition (%) relative to the control growth.
