Summary

The document specifies a method of test for the determination of the braking tenacity of cotton fibres arranged in a parallel manner in a flat bundle. The method applies to fibres from raw cotton, or to fibres from various stages in the manufacturing process, or to fibres separated of extracted from manufactured cotton products. The method is applicable to fibres being tested either at a nominal gauge length of zero, or at a finite gauge length.
