DIN ISO 8291:1987-03

This standard specifies a comparative method of test for the determination of the self-cleaning properties of vitreous and porcelain enamelled walls of roasting devices, grills and baking devices. The test is carried out by dropping of defined amounts of soya oil on to specified points on the vitreous and porcelain enamelled test specimen, heating it at specified temperature, cooling it to ambient temperature and repeating the cycle until a visible gloss appears. The number of cycles carried out on the test specimen is compared with the number of cycles carried out on a reference specimen.
