DIN SPEC 33452:2017-11
Code of practice for the provision of commercial private investigative services
Summary
This DIN SPEC in accordance with the PAS procedure was developed within a workshop set up on a temporary basis. The DIN SPEC was developed and approved by the authors named in the foreword. In DIN SPEC 33452, procedural and process requirements are specified for natural persons, company employees and companies (legal persons): a) who provide investigative services on a commercial basis; b) who render services of an investigatory nature within a company. In addition to process-independent requirements, general and specific requirements pertaining to the provision of investigative services will be specified as well as ethics requirements to ensure the provision of high-quality investigative services. Operative procedures should be transparent and standardized for all private and commercial providers of investigative services. The use of consistent terminology allows consumers (customers) and their clients to compare investigative service providers more easily and ultimately make an appropriate selection of provider.
