Drafting service standards in conformity with procurement law - Guidelines for standardisation

Summary

This DIN SPEC in accordance with the PAS procedure was developed within a workshop set up on a temporary basis. The DIN SPEC was developed and approved by the authors named in the foreword. The DIN SPEC contains guidelines for the formulation of service standards that are compatible with procurement law. To this end connections between service standards and relevant procurement legislation are described. Furthermore, the DIN SPEC will describe the legal provisions that affect the application of service standards during the different stages of the procurement process. Harmonizing service standards with the relevant provisions of procurement law is significant for a number of different services. The DIN SPEC primarily addresses participants in national, european and international standardization working bodies. It aims to help all those who draw up service standards to identify the relevant legal provisions during the development process and to take these into account when formulating the text of the standard.
