DIN SPEC 91322:2015-05
Bore head radar for horizontal directional drilling (HDD-radar) - Environment, conditions and limitations of use
Summary
The DIN SPEC shall cover Horizontal Directional Drilling procedures using the Bore Head Radar technology based on fluids as the drilling agent. Horizontal Directional Drilling methods are procedures used for the trenchless installation of pipelines, ducts and cables, sometimes also for drainages, geotechnical elements and other applications. To ensure a consistent quality standard during the process, the planned DIN SPEC shall set out the requirements, quality assurance and testing for Horizontal Directional Drilling methods and shall summarise the requirements according to today's technical standards. Implementation of these standards is necessary when applying Horizontal Directional Drilling methods to meet accepted best practice. It shall provide the basis for specifications for the procurement of these services. DVGW GW 321 already provides an excellent basis for the application of HDD in the gas and water area. However, this DIN SPEC also targets the use of HDD methods in the wastewater industry as well as energy and communications lines.
