DIN SPEC 91333:2015-11

This DIN SPEC contains guidance and recommendations relating to the design of the user interface of touch-free gesture control in human-system interaction. The document comprises principal terms, a depiction of the gesture control process and the description, characterization and illustration of human gestures. The document also defines basic rules for devising intuitive or learnable gestures. In addition, it presents standard gestures to operate gesture control system functions that are not specific to particular applications. These are shown both with their function and as part of a representative catalogue of gestures. The DIN SPEC does not contain a full catalogue of gestures, nor does it list every application, as these will depend on the respective sector and application. This DIN SPEC is aimed at those involved in the development, purchasing and testing of gesture control systems as well as their end users. This DIN SPEC should be used in conjunction with DIN EN ISO 9241, and deals only with those aspects of the user interface of human-system interaction that are specific to gesture control.
