Guidelines for the application of network protectors are established. The use of network transformers and protectors with distributed resources is addressed.
This guide will be revised to aid relay protection engineers, vendors, and utility customers to address the use of network transformers protection by independent power producers. Additionally, the guide will be revised to introduce new transformer protection and techniques that may include the computer type relays, fiber optics, ultra-violet detectors, and current limiting protection devices.
