La présente norme a pour objet, la description de la méthode micrographique de détermination de la profondeur de décarburation du fil machine en acier non allié à haute teneur en carbone (au moins égale à 0,5% C). Cette méthode devient imprécise pour les aciers à teneur en carbone inférieur à 0,5%.
