RCC-M:2024
Design and construction rules for mechanical components of PWR nuclear islands
Summary
This document is the fourteenth edition (2024 edition) of the RCC-M code published by AFCEN.
This work consists of 127 modification sheets (N° 1864 to 1993 included). The changes made for this 2024 edition relate in particular to the following provisions:
Changes to the welding requirements, taking into account feedback, in particular the qualification and acceptance rules for filler materials, the rules relating to production witness coupons, and clarification of the qualification rules applicable to assembly sites;
Taking into account feedback on local heat treatments after welding;
The introduction of water plus polymer quenching as an alternative to oil quenching for martensitic steels;
The introduction of steel grade P355 for the supply of level 1 parts for secondary circuit piping;
A change in the requirements for the supply of small quantities;
Changes to the design fatigue curve for austenitic steels and nickel-based alloys (introduction of the curve from RPP 2), and the introduction in Annex Z L of rules for taking environmental effects into account, replacing those in RPP 3;
Additions to Annex Z G, and the introduction of the RTT0 approach for indexing the toughness curve;
Additions to RPP 9 on the analysis of the behaviour of the multi-perforated medium of tube sheets;
In regulatory appendix ZY, details and clarifications, the inclusion of the 2023 edition of the radiation protection guide and COLEN sheet N044, and the referencing of new PTANs.
This edition also incorporates changes to the standards, as shown in tables A 1300.
