This procurement specification covers aerospace quality safety cable kits consisting of safety cables and ferrules made from the same corrosion and heat resistant steels and a nickel base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering system as follows:

1. UNS S30400 - Corrosion resistant steel (AMS 5697)

2. UNS S32100 - Corrosion and heat resistant steel (AMS 5689)

3. UNS N06600 - Nickel base alloy (AMS 5687)

The requirements for installation practices are also specified.

Rationale:
This document was revised to allow a larger bend angle where the cable enters and exits a fastener, also to include 0.062/0.072 (large diameter) safety cable and kits. The changes also include other material (AMS 5666), and configuration options (self-looping safety cable, and elongated ferrules). This revision supersedes all previous issues.
