Summary

This Standard specfies requirements for the connections of hose reels according to DIN EN 671-1 to wet and wet/dry extinguishing pipes. Type S is used for self help, with water supply between 12l/min and 24 l/min. Type F may additionally be used for water supply by fire brigade. This standard gives recommendations for architects, designers, fire brigades and authorities to install the hose system with semi-rigid hose in the relevant fire safety areas. The cabinets may be combined with further equipment, e.g. fire extinguishers according to DIN EN 3-1 (e.g. manual fire extinguishers) and/or fire detection systems (e.g. manual call point according to DIN EN 54-11).
