Summary

This standard specifies requirements for cabinets and their equipment for fire hose reels with semi-rigid hose in accordance with DIN EN 671-1. It describes the versions Type F and Type S, which differ in scope and capabilities, flowrates and demands regarding the water supply. Wall hydrants Type F with connection to separate fire water lines can be used by firefighters or serves them as water supply for their own equipment. This wall hydrant can also be used by untrained people for self-help. Wall hydrants Type S have a reduced output of fire water (max 24 l/min) are only for self-help. These wall hydrants are allowed to be connected to the drinking water supply if the requirements for a direct connection are met. Note: For the design of fire hose systems DIN 14462 and DIN 1988-600 apply.
