DIN 2335:1986-10

The language of a term or a text can be designated by a language symbol. This standard lists approx. 140 language symbols consisting of two lower case letters and created from the original language name in most of the cases. As selection criteria national and official languages were chosen, but no artifical languages not historical ones. The standard is supplemented by a list of the authority symbols used by the standardization bodies organized in ISO.
