DIN 2335:2016-08

This standard serves for understanding in science and technology, business and administration, and is also applicable to other areas such as technology or, more specifically IT. DIN 2335 contains the two-letter language codes according to ISO 639-1 (in its updated database version 2012-12) and for each specifies a prefered version of the language name in German. The document lists also the most commonly used alternative language names and directs the user to the prefered language name. The criteria for the selection of the preferred language names are explained in the Foreword.
